YogaUSC is a home base for all yoga related activities on the USC campus. It will serve as a resource guide for existing departmental classes, an educational tool for greater understanding of yoga’s many benefits, and will ultimately offer specialized classes designed to bring together students, faculty and staff. College Yoga Day
October 26, 2019 – Join us for the inaugural College Yoga Day At USC! Our all day, wanderlust-like festival will bring together the USC Yoga, mindfulness, and wellness communities to help you celebrate all that you love about life and about being a USC Trojan. We aim to introduce you to healthy lifestyle alternatives that are available to you as resources on campus through an amazing and eclectic collective of USC’s elite Yoga and mindfulness-inspired professors and faculty members, along with a few oustanding teachers and leaders from the Yoga and mindfulness community in Southern California. Movement and Meditation
The Office of Religious & Spiritual Life offers free yoga sessions for all USC students and staff. Sessions at the University Religious Center are taught by certified, dynamic, and highly experienced teachers. Classes focus not just on physical fitness and health but also on connecting to one’s center and finding peace. Learn more
Sara Elizabeth Ivanhoe, M.A. has been teaching yoga since 1995. She was the Yoga Spokesperson for “Weight Watchers,” “Yoga for Dummies,” “Crunch Yoga,” and appeared as a series regular on “Dr. Drew’s Celebrity Rehab” as the therapeutic instructor. She served as the yoga columnist for Health magazine for three years and has written and appeared in almost every yoga and health publication. Twenty years after graduating with honors from NYU, Ivanhoe completed her master’s degree in 2015 from Loyola Marymount University as part of the inaugural class in Yoga Studies where she served as Senator of the student body for Bellarmine College. Most recently she partnered with Oprah Magazine to co-create the “Just Breathe” brand of yoga and meditation now taught on Holland America Cruise lines internationally. She currently serves as the Yoga and Meditation Content Curator for Glo, teaches at LMU in the Yoga Studies department and is part of the regular MindfulUSC faculty where she teaches a 5-week progressive course on sleep.
